A pediatrician manages the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of children under their care at every development stage, in both health and sickness.

Some of the aims of pediatrics are to reduce infant and child rate of deaths, promote healthy lifestyles for a long disease-free life, control the spread of infectious disease, and help ease the problems of children and adolescents with chronic conditions.
